Our story

It all started 

a decade ago…

Carmec was born from a deep understanding of the car repair industry, where we saw firsthand the complexities and challenges faced by all parties involved—insurers, bodyshops, technology providers, and customers. From both operational and external viewpoints, we recognized the inefficiencies and tensions embedded within the industry. Time, money, and quality were being sacrificed due to a “prisoner’s dilemma” where stakeholders acted in isolation, often leading to less-than-ideal outcomes for everyone.

This insight sparked our vision: to become an objective, central player capable of bridging these gaps. By positioning ourselves neutrally, we aimed to create an environment where collaboration could flourish, and all stakeholders would benefit. Our ultimate goal was to build a streamlined process, where the damaged-car customer—the most important stakeholder—sees improvements in quality, efficiency, and satisfaction. This aspiration marked the beginning of Carmec’s journey.

Our mission attracted like-minded partners eager to join forces, but we quickly encountered a major obstacle: the lack of a comprehensive technological solution. While individual tools and processes existed, a cohesive system that could unify all components was missing. However, we saw the pieces starting to come together, and we were determined to assemble them into a powerful, holistic platform.
